I know everyone's focused on the U.S. election, so sending out a Substack post today might seem futile. But I didn't want to skip a week, and who knows, maybe you'll welcome the distraction while you wait for the results.
This week, I'm tackling a couple of reader-submitted questions. This is my first Substack video post, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s the easiest format for Q&A, but as you can see, it was impossible for me to get it done in one-sitting. Now you know what my ADHD looks like…
Anyway, it took me a while to go through all of the questions you sent, but I really appreciate the curiosity shown. I was surprised by how many of you wanted to know more about my songwriting process. Talking about it sometimes feels tedious and self-indulgent—like talking about yourself often does—but thanks for reminding me that it's still of interest to you. I was also taken aback by the hilarious questions you sent wanting my advice on dating musicians. So much so that I may need to make my own column dedicated to this topic. But to make a long story short: Is it a good idea to date a musician? Absolutely not.
Moving right along…
The first question I answer in my video is from , asking about how I come up with lyrics on the fly while recording.
Links to my mentions: Stanley (RIP) | Sad Man | Björk’s Vulnicura

Why What How & The Jibber Jabber
The second question is from about my feelings around releasing music under my name rather than “Queen Kwong.”
Both are great questions; though, I couldn’t come up with a decisive answer for the second one. Should the new record not be a Queen Kwong record? After hearing the pros and cons, what are your thoughts?
If you have questions for me for the next Q&A post, submit them via comments or DMs and maybe I’ll answer. As I’ve said before, nothing is off limits as long as it’s not cruel or perverse.
STRANGERS
In other news, my new EP, “STRANGERS”, came out last week and I really appreciate the support thus far. If you haven't listened to it, please do so. I'm proud of this baby.
As per usual, like, comment, and share. your engagement determines my mood for the rest of the week, and I’m PMSing rn so I need all the help a girl can get.
c u next tuesday.
